STIs
Early syphilis symptoms are a painless sore or sores, and may be followed by a rash that goes away on its own, even without treatment. As a result, many people can have syphilis and not notice any symptoms, especially if the sore or rash is some place hard to see (like in the mouth or anus). This is why testing is so important! Your doctor does not automatically check you for syphilis. Tell your health care provider about all unprotected sex you have had, including anal, oral, or vaginal sex, and ask about getting tested. See a provider immediately if you notice a sore.

Gonorrhea is spread by skin-to-skin contact with an infected partner's penis, vagina, mouth, or anus. Untreated gonorrhea can cause painful infections, leading to permanent sterility in women and sometimes even in men. It can even infect a pregnant woman's baby, causing blindness and potentially deadly infections.
Gonorrhea usually presents as a discharge at the site where the bacteria entered the body. This is easily missed in the vagina, the rectum or the mouth. In men it often shows up as a white or yellowish discharge from the penis, along with painful urination.
